The Board of Directors of Advocacy Family Network, Inc. is made up of dedicated leaders who share a commitment to bridging gaps in services and ensuring that victims and families affected by domestic violence receive the support they deserve. Together, they guide AFN’s mission, uphold its values, and strengthen the network of compassion and advocacy across our communities.

Board of Directors

Advocacy Family Network was born out of a shared vision to better support families affected by domestic violence.  That vision was sparked by the challenges of gatekeeping and the gaps in services that victims and their families often face.

Founder Rachell Pyle had been encouraged by many to start a nonprofit to address those gaps facing not only law enforcement but other organizations.  When she shared the idea with Beth Heflin, Beth immediately said, “Let’s do it.”

Soon after, Rachell met with Betty Harrison, Lesley-Anne Crumpton, Breanna Burgess, Melissa McCrary, Randall Satterfield, and Marlena Primeau at Betty’s home to talk through the mission, the need, and the possibility of creating a network that bridges those divides. That meeting became the catalyst for forming Advocacy Family Network, Inc.

Special thanks to Betty Harrison and Marlena Primeau for their early contributions and encouragement during AFN’s creation.
