Lesley-Anne Crumpton

Lesley grew up in Madison, Alabama, and graduated from Bob Jones High School, the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH), and Army ROTC at Alabama A&M. During that time, she became a victim of military sexual trauma (MST) but never reported it to law enforcement. She spent eight years on Active Duty, serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Lesley earned a Master of Business and Organizational Security Management degree and finished her military commitment as a company commander with the Criminal Investigations Division.

While serving in the U.S. Army, she gained firsthand experience with violence, sexual harassment, and assault, which inspired her to transition her skills to the private sector. She returned to UAH to earn a master’s degree in public affairs and policy and took part in local and state internships. During that time, she noticed ongoing gaps in what people knew and cared about regarding criminality, the law, and available resources. Joining Advocacy Family Network felt like a natural next step to address these community concerns and help those most vulnerable.

Lesley currently works as a security specialist with Polaris, Inc., where she partners with non-profits, local law enforcement, and businesses to support employees affected by domestic and workplace violence. She also serves on the Decatur Baptist Church choir and security team.

She is married to Joey Crumpton and has three adult stepchildren and one step-grandchild.
