Domestic Violence Family Advocates
Domestic Violence Family Advocates are the heart of AFN’s mission. They walk beside individuals and families impacted by violence, serving as steady, compassionate support during some of the hardest moments a person can face. Our advocates do not replace legal professionals, law enforcement, or mental-health providers; they bridge the gap between them.
Their role is to ensure every person feels seen, heard, informed, and supported from crisis through recovery.
Why Domestic Violence Family Advocates Matter:
Domestic Violence Family Advocates help close service gaps many victims encounter when navigating complex systems.
They provide a human connection—someone who listens without judgment, offers safety-focused guidance, and helps victims understand their options.
All support is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL, allowing individuals to seek help without fear, pressure, or obligation.
How Domestic Violence Family Advocates Matter:
Family Advocates are trained volunteers who partner with victims, families, and collaborating agencies to offer:
Emotional support during moments of crisis
Safety-focused information and resources
Guidance on navigating community services
Support during difficult procedures such as court filings, reporting, or accessing shelter
Compassionate presence during overwhelming or unfamiliar processes
Their commitment ensures victims and families are never left to face these moments alone.
