Stacy L. Thomas, M.S., B.S.
Stacy is an earthy and colorful guide whose passion lies in encouraging and uplifting others. Recently retired after 23 years in law enforcement, Stacy brings a wealth of experience to her role, having spent nearly a decade as a detective working directly with domestic violence victims alongside her department’s mental health cases.
During her tenure with the City of Madison Police Department, Stacy pioneered the city’s first on-site mental wellness program for first responders, ensuring immediate access to mental health resources tailored to their unique needs. She served as the city’s first Mental Health Officer (2016), was appointed Coordinator of the Crisis Intervention Team (2019), and earned the department’s Officer of the Year award in both 2015 and 2018. Stacy is also certified in Counseling and holds a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from the University of West Alabama, along with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University.
Her dedication to service has always extended beyond the badge. Whether supporting survivors of domestic violence, mentoring colleagues, or walking with others through their healing journeys, Stacy is committed to creating spaces of safety, dignity, and hope.
Outside of her professional work, Stacy is a world traveler who has explored Asia, Tanzania, and Brazil, with Portugal, Spain, and Morocco next on her list. She enjoys adult coloring—now on her 15th book with hundreds of pencils—and finds joy in self-help and personal growth books, counting The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama and The Primal Wound by Nancy Verrier among her favorites.
